SMT – Who/What/When/Where

Shamrock Motorsport was launched in 2013 following a successful first trial event at the NSW Round of ARC Coffs Harbour, where Richie Dalton finished inside the top 10 in his first ever rally, in a hired Rallyschool.com.au Evo6. Two months after this event Richie purchased his first rally car, a Subaru WRX. The team only contested one event in the Subaru, the 2013 National Capital Rally taking 2nd outright. John Allen, current Co-Driver also joined the team in 2013.

Following the National Capital Rally the Subaru was sold and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX was purchased. In this car the Shamrock Motorsport Team continued their successful year with two 3rd places and a 1st outright win, which secured them a runner-up position in the 2013 AUSTRALIAN 4WD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Shamrock Motorsport Team contested the 2014 campaign and more success followed with the team claiming the title for 2014 AUSTRALIAN 4WD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP with numerous outright victories.

In 2015 and 2016 Richie stepped away from the sport to build his business and further fund his rallying ambitions.

In 2017 the team enter an exciting new chapter by committing to the New Zealand Rally Championship, this time in a brand new Ford Fiesta Proto Specification car.

The Team has 1 goal in mind, and that is to win the title, realistically its unlikely for this happen in our first year, however we are a very competitive team, our preparation is second to none, in both car and pre event studying.

Our first year target is a podium at some stage. Maybe ambitious to some, but we as a team are extremely competitive. ANYTHING SHORT OF THIS IN OUR EYES IS A FAILURE
